When I finally got through the first three stages of grief and arrived at the fourth
- acceptance - I was ready to adjust and reorganize my life to the therapy.
However, I was not ready to look sick, nor was I prepared to give up my dream of travelling and being on the road all the time.
Unfortunately, I had to learn that, as always in life, nothing is free. For example, strong medications bring significant pain reduction, but also strong side effects. Also, not all symptoms are treatable.
So I searched. For anything that would significantly improve my well-being and quality of life.
Here you can find some of the absolute lifesavers that I don't want to modernize from my life.
May they lighten up your life as they did with mine.
The stylish way of ear acupressure
Most of the drugs have stomachache as a well known side effect.
At the ear is a medically proven acupuncture/acupressure point which helps with stomachaches.
Important is, that it's a gold piece which fits on this point and puts pressure on it.
This accessoire did the trick and looks stylish instead of a medical instrument. And the best part: you can change the amount of pressure.
The BEST travel pillow I ever had!
I have regularly troubles to find some sleep, cause every pillow is either to hard or to soft and my head hurts when I try them. But Blackroll created a pillow which has the perfect consistence.
This cute cuddly pillow is so soft and fluffy that I can sleep on it even if my head wanna explode. I use it every time in the hospital when I'm getting a head surgery.
Enzyme Peeling
One of the most common side effects of all powerful drugs are clogged pores, rash, redness.
I was sent from one dermatologist to another. My skin can no longer tolerate most products.
It might sound odd, but this enzyme peel is an absolute lifesaver. I didn't expect much, due to the fact that its not a fancy brand in any kind.
It helps incredibly well. It is super skin tolerant. It is very affordable (being chronically ill is expensive let's face it). And it's great for traveling. It is super easy to use. And for me the most important thing: it is therefore perfect to integrate into everyday life.
After four weeks it no longer burns, it no longer inflames. It is no longer constantly red.
I use it 2-3 times a week and just love it. In the morning while I drink coffee, or in the evening while I arrange my things for the next day.
Try it now, thank me later.
Working in front of a screen: Bluelight filter glasses
I'm working the whole day in front of a screen.
As someone with headache the whole time, its tough.
During amazon prime day I've found these glasses to reduce the headache caused by the bluelight from the screen.
They were reduced, so I gave them a try.
And I'm more than surprised. You have to get used to the yellow glasses, but after this short period, they are amazing. Totally lightweight (so no additional pain caused by trigger points in the face), they relax the eyes AND on top of it, I like the style and how they look on me.
Let me know if it worked for you as well :-)
